Black box in you car

2/3/2019

Automotive "black boxes" are now built into more than 90 percent of new cars, and the government is considering making them mandatory. These devices are technically called event data recorders (EDRs). Typical records include vehicle speed, throttle position, brake application, engine speed and velocity change through the collision. Some vehicles also record steering input angles.
Eventually you may see auto makers using the information to say you abused the car and cancelling the warranty.
You have the right to take a bus instead. If you do not wish this data to be used against you, do not drive the car.
